About Matt Huntley

Matt has worked across just about every discipline you can imagine—except, you know, brain surgery and deep-sea diving. From filming indigenous tribes in the jungles of Tanzania to playing video games with elephants in Thailand (he swears the elephants are really competitive), he thrives on the thrill of the unknown. But let’s be honest, his heart truly belongs to writing and directing comedic actors. He’s got an uncanny ability to cast the perfect talent and pull off performances that’ll make you snort-laugh in the best way possible.

His portfolio reads like a who’s who of big brands, having worked with the likes of Samsung, Barclays, Budweiser, and Matalan (yes, that Matalan, where fashion meets bargain hunting). His short films? They’ve racked up more awards than a dog at a talent show.

Before hitting the big time, Matt was busy learning the ropes with a background in graphic design and photography—because why settle for one creative field when you can dabble in three? His big break came when he started as an assistant director and production manager on a mix of commercials, music videos, and feature films. After shooting a few test spots, he was handed the reins to direct Trimming The Fat, a short film for BBC Films, and he hasn’t looked back since.

From there, Matt signed with Outsider, where he spent five years making films for major brands. Along the way, he’s collaborated with some of the biggest agencies in the world, like BBH, Ogilvy NY, Krow, MullenLowe, Grey, Special Group Sydney, VCCP, and AMV BBDO. Honestly, if you haven’t worked with Matt yet, it’s probably because you’ve been living under a rock (or possibly an elephant, which—let’s face it—would be a pretty cool place to live).
