Andrew Lang

Andrew began his career with the documentary feature Sons of Cuba. The film won multiple awards, including the British Documentary Association's Grierson Award for Best Newcomer. Variety called it ‘A knockout debut’ and Hollywood Reporter said, ‘It has all the elements of an arthouse hit.’

Moving into commercials, he has developed a reputation for nuanced performances and tight narratives. His work for Movistar, ‘Love Story’, was watched by millions worldwide. Campaign Magazine called it ‘Masterfully directed’, and said, ‘This sets a new bar for twist endings’.

He has written two screenplays, one for a feature film and one for a television show, both of which are under option to leading producers.

In 2024, he became a published author with the story Hold, which also won the Oxford Flash Fiction Award. The judges commented, ‘This is flash fiction at its best – every word counts, and combined, this piece penetrates the heart.’

When he’s not directing, he’s hard at work on some new screenplays and (he thinks, he is afraid it may be true…) a novel.
