Felipe Torres Urso, a thirty-one year old film producer and director, was born and raised in Honduras. While attending Pepperdine University one of his short films caught the eye of Academy Award-winning director, Ron Howard. Felipe worked as Howard’s assistant for many years on projects including: “Frost/Nixon” (which was nominated for 5 Oscars including Best Picture), blockbuster “Angels and Demons”, “Howard’s Boys & Girls Clubs of America Commercials” starring Denzel Washington on which Felipe directed 2nd Unit, and “Inferno” on which Felipe directed a unit in Italy. Most recently Felipe served as Associate Producer on Howard’s National Geographic’s 2017 global event series, “Genius”, focused on Nobel Prize-winning physicist Albert Einstein, which was nominated for 8 Emmys.

Felipe has directed comedy exclusives for Will Ferrell’s ‘Funny or Die’, his acclaimed short film ‘Bald’ was acquired by Shorts HD International, his recently released UK mental health camp campaign for Ogilvy & Mather has had widespread national reach, and his latest spot for Ted Baker brought back to life the musical piece “Think Pink” from the Audrey Hepburn classic “Funny Face.”

In 2017 Felipe was also a finalist in Warner Brother’s emerging director’s program. Felipe has had the opportunity to direct Academy Award-winning actress Mary Steenburgen, “Girl’s” star Zosia Mamet, Miguel Ferrer, Thure Lindhardt, Camilla Belle, and Omar Sy, among others. Felipe is currently in post production on his debut feature film, a coming of age teen romantic comedy, which will be released in 2019.
